The Duties of the Mayor;

The Mayor shall be recognized as the official head of the city for all ceremonial purposes, by the courts for serving civil process, and by the Governor for military purposes. In time of public danger or emergency he may, with the consent of the Commission, take command of the police and maintain order and enforce the laws.

Mayor Fanning shows his great sense of civic pride and is a regular participant in many City functions such as the annual Christmas Parade.

Bill Fanning was elected as Mayor by a vote of the City Commissioners as per the City Charter in 2005. Mayor Fanning continues to serve The City of Woodward as both Mayor and City Commissioner with distinction and is well respected and appreciated by the community.
